Overall, I had a pretty good weekend. Actually sat up at a table to have supper and was outside for a bit sitting of course on lawn chairs. It was nice to eat upright with my husband and other guests at our home.
I got beyond the fear of taking out my old subcutaneous catheter site and placing a new site with a needle. It seems like as a nurse you stick so many people and start/give meds that you don't even think twice. But, yourself-woa, better watch out you might actually screw something up. Plus, knowing that there are two little ones inside depending on me to set everything correctly puts a little more pressure on the situation. Don't let the pump beep too long, you might run out of meds and that could start contractions all over again. Yikes!
I've been watching my husband move boxes and furniture out and it makes me feel sad that I can't help him. I worry he is going to hurt his back or injure himself somehow. The other issue at hand is that we have no family or friends nearby to really help him. This only makes matters worse and stressful for both of us. As we are moving in to our new place one week early we are stressed about the possibility of no one to help us on the receiving end of things. After calling around, we might have one or two possible people to help. I'm sure it will all work out, but in the mean time you are forced to worry.
Our internet service was out until late this afternoon. No fun. I stuck with finishing my book that I've been slowly paging through over oh the past month or two. It has also been a rollercoaster of contractions today. Extra boluses given --no fun. I feel like I should have this home health nurse company on speed dial as you have to at a minimum make contact with them twice a day....If there are other issues, you speak with them more-great. I wonder if I'm either advancing with this contraction stuff or my body is building a tolerance to this medication; I've heard that can happen. Tomorrow Kris leaves for 5 days. Maybe the stress of knowing this and mentally preparing is causing this to happen or perhaps it is sheerly coincidence. Who knows. My mom should be coming at some point again--but really shouldn't be here as she has her own house to worry about as she is moving too. I hate to place any additional burdens on her.
I pray that things will be okay over the next week and we can safely get everything transitioned over to Madison without interruptions. It will be a long week!
