April 28, 2010:
The past two days haven't been so bad. I've been lucky to have Kris here to get our new home organized and help me when needed. We really like the new place! Definitely have to find storage ideas and get rid of alot of items that we simply can't squeeze in here. It never ceases to amaze me how much stuff you accumulate that you really don't know you have until you see it again. Process of elimination in just having to say goodbye to all of those meaningless items.
I've slowly allowed myself to do a little more each day. I sit up for longer periods of time, rest when needed, and do simple tasks around the place not pushing my limits. I seem to be getting bigger and bending over just doesn't happen anymore. I've realized I have a new talent of picking things up with my toes or having to squat down to grab something. The bedrest thing is still maintained, but more like a modified version of it. At this point, I feel like I know my body in when it's time to lay down and I continue to drink water and empty the bladder to avoid any irritability. I've been told that I could come off of bedrest since I'm no longer on medications, but want the final word from my new ob/gyn.
Tomorrow I have my appointment with the new doc. He comes with really good recommendations--so we will have to see what the new chief says in regards to everything that has gone on with me. I also get to do my glucose tolerance test. Oh how fun! I have a sneaking suspicion that the bed rest status will be revoked....please please! I would love to go out to supper with Kris or possibly just sit outside on a bench and read in the sun. Okay, going for a walk and shopping might be pushing it, but I could be 100% satisfied with some simple activities.
I'm excited for this weekend as the twin's room will finally get some attention. Everything we don't have will be purchased and the final touches will be done to get mattresses and sheets on. Perhaps some decorations on the wall and of course the clothes tucked away in the drawers and diapers carefully positioned ready to go. I will be turning 29 weeks on Friday--which is a ways away from the due date, but I think putting the room together will make everything seem so much closer to our reality!
