Oh Happy Day!

Monday, April 26,2010:
Yesterday was move day to Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. Kris loaded everything up and I grabbed my purse and hopped in (okay slowly waddled my way there). As we were pulling our moving trailer--an enclosed snowmobile trailer (Kris' idea) plus it works great for moving, I noticed right off the bat that our SUV jerks alot with the stop/go and hilly countryside. Yes, we moved out of the boonies and northern Illinois is very hilly. Well all this jerking really upset that good ol' sensitive uterus of mine having to hold it practically the entire way and do my toco monitoring as well. Lots of contractions on the way here, what a fun ride! I was so happy to get out when we finally arrived a little over an hour and a half later. As there was no furniture in our new place I gladly laid (correct? I don't know) down on the bare floor as anything was more tolerable than that car ride. Had two of my brothers and a friend of Kris' to help. It's really nice to have people willing to help.
Anyways, to make a long story short, the contractions continued all day and after multiple boluses of this terb "turd" medicine I was instructed to go to the hospital. Great-anxiety, nervousness, apprehension about having to be rehospitalized all over again. And we just moved--Kris was exhausted! Everything turned out to be pretty stable or shall I say intact, heartrates good, but yes-those darn contractions. I was told they will continue to occur. As long as they are not painful and do not have any other associated symptoms, research does not support terb use. So,my pump and drugs--discontinued. Contraction monitoring-discontinued. Could I go home-YES! I could've jumped off the bed and hugged the doctor. Anything not to lug that thing around. Plus, I believe that it really stressed both of us out. Just having it there--pumping and worrying that my toco monitoring was going to pick up beyond the contraction/hour threshold. Phew!
I establish with my new OB doctor this week and we will see what his final word is. For now, I continue to maintain my bedrest status--not pushing my limits and will monitor how things are. I cross my fingers and pray daily that things will continue to look up from here. Today, being my first day completely drug free has been ok. Of course, the contractions are there, somewhat more powerful at times then others, but I take it easy and rest when need be. I know when I should worry as it has been clearly described to me.
I strongly believe everything happens for a reason and the Lord works in mysterious ways. Perhaps this move, new jobs, new OB is all part of the plan. After a difficult year living and working where we were, is it safe to say that things will turn around? Being the pessimist or glass half empty person that I am, I have to err on the side of caution and say-- wayyyy too early to tell.
We feel extremely blessed and are thankful for another day the babies can be inside and that I do not have to spend in a hospital bed.
